 This past Friday evening, American Aquarium stopped in Nashville at Exit/In on the spring leg of their tour to support their new record titled Wolves. Guthrie Brown & the Family Tree opened right before American Aquarium and put on an energetic set that got the crowd hootin' and hollerin' early in the night. Brown was jumping and playing to his hearts content while John McNally, the electric guitarist, kept on ripping some amazing lines throughout the entire set. It's hard to get a Nashville audience to dance and Brown and his band definitely did the job well. Guthrie Brown & the Family Tree will be touring some this spring and summer throughout the east coast and the mid-east. Catch them on tour here and grab the bands EP, Spirit of the Elk. 

American Aquarium has already performed 70 shows out the 110 days in the year so far and their most recent record has taken them up the charts since its release in early February. Frontman BJ Barham's songwriting is skin deep for many twenty and thirty-somethings, although American Aquarium draws a hard-core following of many ages. With intricate instrumentation from Colin Dimeo & Ryan Johnson on electric guitar, Bill Corbin on electric bass, Whit Wright on pedal steel and Kevin McClain on drums, American Aquarium's sound will stand the test of time. Their 2012 record, Burn. Flicker. Die, was just the beginning of their success as a steady band and since then, they've all kept their humble attitudes as they craft their sound together.

Tonight at Off Broadway (6/19) should be special as Jason Isbell returns to St. Louis with American Aquarium. Show starts 8:30, and doors are at 7:30. We suggest buying tickets ($17-23) now to avoid problems at the door. Because no one likes problems at the door.
