Jam of the Day | Gauntlet Hair - Keep Time

Denver Duo Gauntlet Hair (Andy R. and Craig Nice) just released their self titled debut LP last week (via Dead Oceans). The release of Gauntlet Hair builds on a foundation of web buzz fueled by the release of singles "I Was Thinking" and "Top Bunk." "Keep Time" is a cacophonous jam featured on the newly released record (the lead track, in fact) that showcases Gauntlet Hair's winning blend of echoed vocals, choppy beats, jarring percussion, and jangly guitar. Turbulent, resonant, and expansive in all the right ways, "Keep Time" will be spending some extended time in our headphones to be sure.

Listen to and download "Keep Time" below (for free). Buy Gauntlet Hair here.

Jam of the Day | Gauntlet Hair - I Was Thinking

Ain't BFF love grand? I mean, what's better than a sweet relationship between two dudes? There are no expectations about hanging out ALL the time and no hurt feelings when one guy tells the other guy he's getting love handles. It's bro bliss in the purest form.

And what's even better than that is when BFFs make music, as is the case with our Jam of the Day artists Andy R. and Craig Nice who make up the Colorado duo known as Gauntlet Hair.

Their latest song, and our Jam of the Day, is the perfect example of why friends who make music should stick together. It has a nice beat, cascading and reverbed-out guitars, with hazy vocals that feel like they may have been taking a nap on the couch together when recording this song.

Check it out below, and pre-order the 7" here on the Forrest Family site. Plus while you're there, check out the Dent May description under "Press." Your favorite music blog got a little recognition for its awesome writing skillz.
